Redesigned my client's website for a lighter look, while maintaining the site's functionality.
A past client asked me to refresh his website’s look without losing any of the features or performance we had already built.
The Challenge
Over time, the site kept growing. The homepage took the biggest hit.
What started as a clean, short layout turned into a long-scrolling page as new sections were added. Long pages can work, but it didn’t match the original landing page plan and made the content hard to scan.
New widgets also crept into the article template that weren’t part of the design, which caused inconsistencies across the site.
My Approach & Solution
To build trust quickly, I tightened the homepage content to only what a homepage needs. Short, scannable sections that get to the point and help convert.
I removed heavy visual elements like layered backgrounds and overlapping containers. I updated the typography to a modern, easy-to-read font.
I adjusted layout and components on both the homepage and the article template to improve structure for SEO. Every element now supports the page’s purpose, which makes it clearer for readers and search engines.
The result is a lighter look that keeps all the functionality and performance intact.
