Case Calculator Web App

A law firm needed a custom calculator to make it easier for their users to calculate an estimate of their case value. The goal was to have a tool that is easy to use, matches the website’s branding, and can be placed anywhere on the site.

The Challenge

Before working with me, the client struggled with finding the right tool that fits the job. Other free pre-made calculators weren’t versatile enough, while premium plugins were not cost-efficient in the long run. The client needed something they could truly own and that fits their needs perfectly, both in terms of features and design.

My Approach & Solution

To address these challenges, I built a custom WordPress plugin that exposes a shortcode, so the calculator can be embedded on any page. The plugin includes three different calculators and one dynamic calculator where a user can switch modes depending on their needs.

Besides the custom functionality, I designed the calculator to match the website’s branding and made it look like an actual physical calculator. This not only made the calculator attractive, but also helped with familiarity, making it easy to use and improving the web app’s overall user experience.
